So use Windows Basecamp/Mapsource or gmaptool or mkgmap or sendmap to create a gmapsupp.img - put it on a external harddisk or flash memory (you could also put it onto your GPS, but than it's slower) and import it into Basecamp. This way you also don't have to actually convert the maps. I’m trying to convert the.gmap file to an img file on a Mac. All the instructions above are out of date and don’t work. For example in Tom’s (above) description he talks about unpacking the.exe file to get the.tbd and.bat files. Well there are no.exe files to extract in my map’s package contents. Also using JaVaWa doesn’t work as it can not find a.TBD file.

I recently purchased TOPO USA 2010 (100k) for use with my GPSMAP 60 CSX. It took me a couple of tries to get it onto my GPS unit, but I eventually managed. However, I have discovered that Mapsource does not do routing well with TOPUSA. With TOPO Canada, if I specify a beginning and end point for a route, it automatically follows roads (set to auto). But when I do the same with TOPO USA it simply places a pink/purple line directly from the start to the end point and ignores roads.

I unlocked it and copied it onto a SD-card and put it into my Garmin Oregon 700. If i connect the GPS to basecamp i can use the card. It also says in maps, that the map is 'Freigeschaltet'. If i start the Oregon it occurs a message which says 'Karten sind nicht authentisiert' and i won't see the map in the list on the Oregon. I am pretty new to the Garmin stuff. Could you please give an advice how to get this map working on my Garmin Oregon 700. That would be great.

My system is windows 8 64bit. I have put the whole folder in different directories to see if that helped, but I keep getting the same error. Probably I am doing something very simple wrong but I have no idea what and am getting desparate.
